What we hold
- Your account: your email address, your username and your password. Your password is stored as a secure one-way hash, which means we cannot read it.
- Your page: the name, description, picture, links and colours you add. These are public, because that is the point of the page.
- Pro subscriptions: your PayPal subscription reference and payer ID, and your subscription status. We never see or store your card details.
- Visitor statistics: when someone visits a link2.uk page, we add one to a daily count of page views, and of clicks on each link. So that one person clicking back and forth is only counted once, we keep a scrambled (one-way hashed) form of the visitor's IP address for 15 minutes, then delete it. Apart from that we only keep the daily totals. We never store IP addresses themselves, use cookies or identify individual visitors.
What we use it for
We use this information to run your page, let you log in, send you emails about your account (such as verification and password resets), and manage Pro subscriptions. We do not sell your data, show advertising, or use advertising trackers.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare Turnstile checks that sign-up, log-in and password-reset forms are being used by real people. Cloudflare may process technical information about your browser to do this.
- PayPal handles Pro payments. Their own privacy policy applies when you pay.
- Our hosting provider stores the site and its database, and sends our emails.
Cookies
We only use cookies that are essential for the site to work:
- A session cookie keeps you logged in while you manage your page. It is deleted when you log out or close your browser.
- Cloudflare Turnstile may use a cookie on our forms as part of its security check.
- PayPal sets its own cookies if you open the payment window.
We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking. Visitors to your link2.uk page do not get a cookie from us.
Your rights
You can see and change most of your information in your account. You can also ask us for a copy of the data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account. To do any of these, email welcome@link2.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
